A wheeled robot that drifted off course gave Cedar Ridge engineering students a useful problem this week. One teammate checked the chassis, another reviewed the program, and a third compared measurements from each trial. The group had to agree on one change before testing again.
The career lab connects technical skills with the habits a workplace project needs: clear notes, shared responsibilities, and a way to explain a decision. Students rotate roles so that building and programming do not fall to the same person every time.
The Wednesday career lab stays open until 4:30 p.m. Participants can request the Hawks career shuttle, which departs at 4:45. Students exploring what comes after graduation can also bring questions to the Senior Next Steps Workshop on October 21 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the counseling center.
