How many ways can you cover a shape? Which grocery package is the better value? Families tried both questions at North Valley’s first family math night, with activities designed for children and adults to solve together.
Teachers set out pattern blocks, estimation jars, and paper puzzles. Older students helped younger visitors explain their thinking, and families left with a game they could repeat using coins or playing cards at home.
The next district gathering is the Student Learning Expo on October 22 at Cedar Ridge High School. Drop in from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to see science investigations, artwork, and engineering projects from across the district.
