Students from all three North Valley schools helped gather the last tomatoes, carrots, and greens of the season this week. The harvest became a tasting table where students could try a small serving before deciding what they wanted with lunch.
Maple Grove classes counted and weighed vegetables. Riverside science students compared soil from the raised beds, while Cedar Ridge agriculture students checked the irrigation system before colder weather arrives. Each group contributed a different part of the work.
The nutrition team will share a roasted-carrot recipe at the October 24 Harvest & Art Walk at Maple Grove. Families can stop by between 10 a.m. and noon; no gardening experience is needed.
