A stack of blocks and a sheet of cardboard kept families experimenting well past their first design at Maple Grove’s maker night. The challenge was simple: build a bridge that could hold a toy bus, then explain why it stayed up.
Some teams folded the cardboard. Others moved the supports closer together. Children practiced testing an idea, making a change, and trying again while adults followed their lead. The library team also shared picture books about builders and problem solvers.
Maker Club continues on Thursdays from 3:10 to 4 p.m. in the art room for grades 3–5. Families should arrange pickup at the west doors or confirm an activity-bus seat with the office before the first meeting.
